WHOO it is HOT here. Today it was closer to 35 degrees, but it felt like 80 (celcius!). Today, in the scorching heat, we decided to haul our sweaty selves down to the local bus stop, to catch the #14 out to the Halifax Shopping Centre.

We were going there because the Access Nova Scotia centre is located there, and we needed to get ourselves some fancy new NS driver's licenses. Also, because we did not anticipate such heat in September, we needed to buy some Summer clothing. THAT, was a challenge, because every store was stocked for Fall!
We finally arrived at our destination after a 20 minute bus ride, and headed for Access Nova Scotia. We of course HAD to get lost first...we wouldn't be newbies if we didn't! An hour of waiting in line later, and we were official Nova Scotians *Cue Celtic Music*

After that, we ate lunch at Treats, and then it was time to SHOP! Evan got a cheap pair of Sperry Topsiders, and after an hour or so of continuous looking, Jackie managed to get a pair of flip flops, two tank tops and a pair of shorts for $33. Then it was time to catch the bus and head home, because Leah was coming to visit!
For dinner, Jackie made chicken parmigiana with home made garlic bread, using the baguette that Leah brought. The apartment was fiercely hot, but Jackie got through it (with a little help from the fan), and made a dinner that we all enjoyed.

After dinner, we relaxed for a bit while the wonderful Evan did the dishes, then we had dessert, which was bite-sized strawberry tarts that Leah brought, and some double chocolate muffins that Jackie made. We finished the evening off with a visit to the rooftop, where we overlooked beautiful Halifax as the sun went down. Leah's beautiful mom and sister came to pick her up, and we sent her home with leftovers, and Muppets plastic cutlery. Time with good friends is awesome!
Tomorrow is another day in the Halifax heatwave, and we shall have to wait and see what it brings!
